Wendy is a long-time community volunteer, public relations professional, and former Fortune 500 executive. After leaving her corporate career, Carver-Herbert launched a small business, advising clients in financial services, real estate, telecommunications, and nonprofit sectors. In retirement, she has been an engaged citizen and tireless neighborhood advocate, resulting in a firm understanding of land use policy and city governance.
She serves as Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Garden City Public Library Foundation and sits on the advisory board of the Garden City Early Learning Collaborative. She also leads Ready for Kindergarten workshops for parents and caregivers, helping ensure children enter school prepared for long-term success.
Additionally, Wendy has worked six sessions as a non-partisan legislative staff member in the Idaho House of Representatives, supporting committees that span the Judiciary, Commerce, Energy/Environment, and Ways and Means. She previously served on the Garden City Boise River Overlay Advisory Committee, was a board member for Denver’s oldest senior living nonprofit, and volunteered as a hospice volunteer, exemplifying her commitment to service and compassion.
Carver-Herbert and her husband—a long-time Idaho resident and active volunteer with the Garden City Police Department—have been married for 37 years. The couple returned to Idaho after successful careers in Colorado and chose Garden City as their forever home. They are proud parents, grandparents, and animal lovers who share their home with a beloved Dalmatian.
